Like Mum Used To Make is the result of a married couple's love of food and many subsequent conversations with foodie friends and Mars Hill Cafe. The concept of the zine came first, with the exhibition following soon after.
About Hayase!
Hayase! is a loose collective of artists, writers and gamers who share a love of popular culture. Their informal monthly meetings are a great chance to catch up over a coffee, share old and new work, toss around ideas and discuss the craft of creativity. Many attendees have ties to the Australian anime, game, comic and zine scenes, so the meetups also provide a way of getting to know each other better without having to wait for the next convention or zine fair.
The Hayase! website lists upcoming meeting dates and links to websites and projects by attendees, and is also home to a comprehensive wiki about Australian comics.
